How It All Started
This journey started well over a decade ago but has evolved overtime into what it is today. My story isn’t unique, to the contrary it’s pretty reliable. I started on a fitness journey in my early 20’s, spent way too much time in the gym over training and focused on ultra-processed garbage to meet my protein intake goals. As a result, I suffered from stomach upset, bloating, fatigue, and chronic inflammation. As time went on, I found balance with activity and focused more on whole foods and things started to improve. But like most things, the more you learn, the more you realize how much you actually don’t know.
It was about 2 years ago when I went full tinfoil hat and cut out everything plastic, “toxic”, artificial, and went full raw milk, grass-fed grass finished everything and natural materials only. What was the catalyst for this intense change you ask? Sourdough bread.
I was late to the sourdough game, I didn’t jump on the band wagon in 2020 like everyone else, it just seemed like too much work. It was only after I bought my house a few years later and wanted to save money on groceries that I got into it. The first thing I learned, tap water and sourdough starter don’t mix. I thought “if the water is killing the sourdough, what the heck is it doing to me”?
Since making these changes, the health in my home has improved dramatically and I’ll never go back, but I was faced with the realization that these changes are hard, can be expensive, and are time consuming. It was an adjustment and took time and dedication to flush out. Big results come about from small consistent changes.
I want every household to experience what it’s like to be nourished with real food, the way God intended, before BIG Food, BIG Pharma, and BIG Ag created a mess of it all.
From my home to yours,
Melissa
